We are a Welcoming Congregation, which means that the congregation has participated in a lengthy, comprehensive educational program in LGBT issues.

UCWC nurtured a PFLAG (Parents, Families and and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) group, which met regularly in our building for many years. LGBT liaisons initiated an effort to support Pennsylvania legislation for LGBT equality, working with UUJusticePA and Equality PA.

Transgender Day of Remembrance

On Wednesday, November 20,2019, our congregation hosted a Transgender Day of Remembrance vigil and community conversation, co-sponsored with the LGBT Equality Alliance of Chester County.

We began with a candlelight vigil of remembrance, support, and unity in the struggle for transgender rights, and supported each other with words, music, community, and refreshment. Our goal was to provide a safe space for all who would join us on this important day.
