Welcome to the Unitarian Congregation of West Chester!  If you are new to Unitarian Universalism you will find us to be a different kind of faith.  Rather than center our religion on creeds or a particular set of beliefs, we choose to follow a way of life that embraces spiritual growth, questioning, integrity and community, and that is lived in diversity.  Within our congregation we have Theists, Humanists, Christians, Atheists, Buddhists, Neo-pagans, and many others – all in community together.  We have found that the diversity of our beliefs aids each of us in our own truth-seeking.

Sunday Services

Our Sunday services are a good first way to get to know us – in a year of minister and lay-led services you’re likely to participate in services with topics as diverse as Hinduism, science and religion, human rights, loss and grieving, spiritual journeys, and many more.  Our services are at 10:00 am on Sunday mornings, dress is come as you are and newcomers are always welcome.  Services are followed by a social hour with coffee and refreshment.  You will find us a joyful, energetic and very musical congregation.

Children

Children are especially important to us at West Chester, and we offer a plethora of children’s activities and religious education classes, led by our very able Religious Education team.  In the words of William Ellery Channing, “The great end in religious instruction is not to stamp our minds upon the young, but to stir up their own… not to form an outward regularity, but to touch inward springs.”

Activities

Sunday services and classes, though, are just one way to get to know us.  Small group activities, like potlucks, adult religious education classes, special events and our choir are just some of the ways to connect with people and begin to find the genuine caring community that the Unitarian Congregation of West Chester is to many of us.

A Community

Whoever you are, I hope that you will find our congregation to be an open, welcoming, caring community.  If you have any questions, would like to explore your own spirituality, want to know more, or would just like to chat, please give me a call.  I look forward to getting to know you!

In faith,
Rev. Dan Schatz
