Our Religious Education Program is led by Pam Baxter, who has been breathing energy and creativity into our children’s ministry since February 2001.
A Unitarian Universalist since 1988 — when she enrolled her son in RE classes at UCWC — Pam is passionate about helping children develop a sense of curiosity about their spiritual identity as well as the natural world around them. To this, she brings many years of personal spiritual practice, outdoor exploration, and a career as a nature and garden writer. She also brings organizational and management skills from her 10+ years in Corporate America.
Her book, A Cup of Light (from Skinner House Books), helps young children understand the rich symbolism of the Flaming Chalice, the symbol of our Unitarian Universalist faith.
Pam believes that we all learn best in an environment of acceptance and a commitment to learning from each other. That makes UU religious education a perfect place for her.
