Our Mission is…

• to provide the children of our Congregation with a positive experience of a faith community
• to explore what it means to be a Unitarian Universalist
• to empower them to embark on a path of personal faith development
• to create in them an awareness and appreciation of the major faith traditions that shape our world
• to provide opportunities for them to put our values into action

Classes

To accommodate the different spiritual development stages of children, we are offering 3 classes this year:

• Pre-K-2nd grade – Spirit Play
• 3rd-5th grade – Windows and Mirrors
• 6th-7th Grades –The Twilight Zone; The Gospel According to the Simpsons
• 8th-9th Grades – Our Whole Lives

Children in 9th through 12th grades may participate in our Youth Group.

Nursery Care

For infants through 3-year-olds we offer nursery care each Sunday with drop off beginning as early as 9:30am and staying after the service and social hour through 11:30am. We ask that you bring any supplies needed (diapers, bottles, etc.) but we will have some snacks (applesauce, goldfish) and plenty of toys! There is also a changing table and child friendly bathroom in the nursery for your use.

Children in Services

Your children are ALWAYS welcome to worship! In the UU, we believe that children are a valued part of our family and it is important for them to feel included. Our children are so bright and even if they don’t understand everything that is said, they see how we gather and how important this it. All that being said, we do recommend seeing what the topic of the sermon will be as there may be an occasional topic that you feel is more mature.

Children’s Worship Circle

Once a month we welcome our children to begin downstairs instead of with the rest of the congregation, and we gather for a children’s worship circle. This gives the children a space to express themselves with their peers for a more integrated experience. We light our chalice, share joys and sorrows, and engage in a theme or message.

Registration

Annual registration is required for all students regularly attending our RE Program. Registering your child in RE helps us with planning, and provides us with information about special needs, allergies and other information important to your child’s health and safety.

The Permissions fields on the registration form allow you to grant or deny permission for your child to take part in local (walking) field trips, and for his/her photo to appear anonymously on our website.
