Walking in the Shoes of Your Brothers and Sisters of Different Hues

In light of the murder of George Floyd, there appears to be an increased awareness of the struggles of Black lives and the existence of social injustices in our community. Many non-whites are seeking ways to help bring about change for the betterment of their Black brothers and sisters. Three things will be shared to increase your understanding of your brothers and sisters of a different hue as you contemplate your response to bring about change.

Cheryl Miles is co-founder and chair of Black Women of Chester County in Action, co-convener of Faith Leaders, which addresses poverty in the county, member of Decade to Doorways Coordinated Entry Task Force, and co-sponsor of the annual Single Mothers Conference.

She has been a social worker for over 30 years, receiving her bachelor’s degree from West Chester University, and Master’s from the University of Pennsylvania. A resident of Kennett Square, Cheryl is married and the mother of two sons.
