Gender-Based Justice: Everyday Acts

Our speaker explores the current #metoo and gender-based violence in a larger context that provides information on the topic and emphasizes the myriad of ways that people can support each other and bolster social justice.

Lisa C Huebner, Ph.D, is a feminist sociologist and Associate Professor in the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies at West Chester University. For over twenty years, Dr. Huebner has studied, applied, taught, and published in the areas of intersectionality theory and sociology of gender as it relates to the experiences of women of color, college students, nursing and other forms of care work, human trafficking, intimate violence, and immigration. She has been quoted by USA Today, NPR, NBC News, and Harper’s, and recently appeared on WHYY’s Radio Times to talk about the #MeToo movement.
