Rev. Andrew Weber is a lifelong Unitarian Universalist who currently serves Thomas Paine Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Collegeville, PA. He lives in Newark, DE with his wife and two children. Andrew’s ministry is one of helping people and communities live into their best selves. He reflects on living a faith-informed life on an online blog called “How to Drive Like a Minister”.
"Love your enemies, Pray for those who persecute you" is perhaps the most challenging verse in the Bible. It seems particularly challenging in today's political climate. How could we do that? In her sermon, Karen Tibbals will provide you with examples of how this can be done and tools, drawn both from psychology research and spirituality, that can help you learn to better achieve that worthy goal.
Karen Tibbals is a former pharmaceutical executive, who left that world to go to a Quaker seminary. Her thesis topic was about how Quakers applied their religious faith to their business life. She teaches Adult Religious Education for her Quaker congregation. She has written a book, "Persuade, Don't Preach: Restoring Civility Across the Political Divide", which focuses on one tool and writes a free Substack newsletter "Mending Fractured Relationships" which includes many other tools.

Join Kathy Beatty and Lisa Bennett, with assistance from Abby McGillivray, as they team up to share hymns that are meaningful to our beloved community. Prior to the service 3x5 cards, pencils, and both hymnals will be available for you to take to your seats. You can take time to locate the name and number of your favorite hymns to write on the cards. These will be collected by the ushers and given to Kathy, Abby and Lisa. The cards will be randomly drawn for the Congregation to sing together throughout the service. There may be a lot of sight-reading for the more obscure hymns. All part of the fun!
