Ironically, lots of people who mark âwhiteâ on forms that ask for our race, donât often think about what that means. However, in our conversations on race, what does having the mythical status made real âwhiteâ mean? What has it meant in the past? Are we better off to be able to mark our race as âwhiteâ? This is a sermon of reflections both sociological and theological on one of todayâs most difficult topics.
Kate Rohde was UCWCâs first called minister, serving 1987-2004, and was made minister emerita in 2015. She has served both interim and settled ministries in six other congregations all over this country and in Canada. She has happily returned to West Chester with her husband, David Cohen.
