Patricia DeBrady has presented/taught African and African American literature to classes, communities, and gatherings of interested others for the past 50 years. Her Unitarian Universalist membership of more than 60 years provides a particular understanding of black presence within predominantly white cultures. Being party to the struggle that had potential to rive the UUA has provided her with some insight (however contestable) about the issue of American diversity. She is a member of the UU Church of the Restoration.
