Rev. Kate Rohde.
Ironically, lots of people who mark “white” on forms that ask for our race, don’t often think about what that means. However, in our conversations on race, what does having the mythical status made real “white” mean? What has it meant in the past? Are we better off to be able to mark our race as “white”? This is a sermon of reflections both sociological and theological on one of today’s most difficult topics.
Kate Rohde was UCWC’s first called minister, serving 1987-2004, and was made minister emerita in 2015. She has served both interim and settled ministries in six other congregations all over this country and in Canada. She has happily returned to West Chester with her husband, David Cohen. They have two grown children.
