Jason earned his bachelor’s degree in Piano and Vocal Performance from Kansas State University and holds a master’s degree in Piano Performance from West Chester University. “I would say my style of performance is generally eclectic with a basis in classical music,” Jason says of his degrees, hastening to add, “yet I grew up listening to loads of popular music.” Jason and his wife Eryn run the music store, Electric Avenue, in West Chester.

Jason has consistently taught piano and was pianist at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Delaware County for over five years before a move forced him to resign. “I knew I would miss contributing to the beautiful music in the church,” says Jason.

Jason became very excited at the prospect of playing for UU’s again, when he joined our staff in September, 2014. Expect Sunday Services to feature his piano performances of music from classical or traditional sources. “I aim to reflect the tone and message of each service,” says Jason. However, expect a little creativity too; “I also love to improvise, so the church members may hear this happen from time to time.”
