For millennia mystics and poets have told us that “All is one” and yet we feel ourselves surrounded by separation, antagonism, and isolation! With help from some intrepid dung beetles, science ambassador JD Stillwater takes us on a tour of findings from mainstream science that reveal an underlying wholism in everything from human bodies to ecosystems to the very fabric of space-time. In short, science agrees: “All is one."

Patriotism should be on our minds and hearts year-round. The acknowledgement and celebration around America’s birthday tends to bring this topic to the forefront. Hear some thoughts and exhortations about the crucial sentiment and practice of patriotism and join in some traditional American song.

Voting is the cornerstone of our democratic system. It is not just a right but a fundamental mechanism through which citizens express their preferences, hold their leaders accountable and ensure that their voices are heard. However, the right to vote is ONLY meaningful if it is accessible to all who are eligible. This principle is under threat, both nationally and here in Pennsylvania. If you are interested in helping us from a non-partisan perspective, please contact Rosanne at [email protected]
Every summer RE invites our friends and families, as well as the whole congregation, to join us for ice cream to beat the heat and meet some cool people! This year we are planning to meetup at the Creamery at the Milky Way Farm in Chester Springs where all the ice cream is made fresh! They are accessible for parking and have room for the kids to run around and see the animals. They can also accommodate nut allergies with dedicated procedures and freshly opened products. So save the date and join us on Wednesday July 17th at the creamery at 7pm and plan for August 8th TBD.
One of the greatest gifts we can share with others is a sense of our own peace. However, we can’t share what we don’t have. Dr. Wicks, an expert on the prevention of secondary stress (the pressures experienced in reaching out to others), will offer insights into how we can live in peace and, in turn, extend our warmth to others without losing our own inner fire in the process.
Dr. Robert Wicks has spoken on resilience, self-care, and the prevention of secondary stress in venues ranging from universities to Capitol Hill, the UK and Beirut. He has published over 60 books, including most recently The Simple Care of a Hopeful Heart: Mentoring Yourself in Difficult Times.

With recent plans of Louisiana to post the Ten Commandments in all classrooms in the state, and similar attempts in other parts of the country, the line between church and state in the US is being tested. Setting aside the First Amendment issue, how do we think of such plans to incorporate religious values into secular education, and the overlap of religious, moral, and political values?
